Joshua Haslun, Ph.D.

Josh successfully defended his thesis in 2015, worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) located in East Lansing (Michigan), and now works as a Lead Analyst in Agricultural Innovation for Lux Research, located in Boston Massachusetts.  

His thesis focus was to understand the correlation between the variance of critical environmental parameters like seawater temperature, nutrient concentration and light availability and the expression of their innate immune system.

Briana Hauff Salas, Ph.D.

Briana successfully defended her thesis in 2015, worked as an Environmental Consultant (Restoration and Conservation Advisement Group, LLC), followed by Postdoctoral Research at UT Health San Antonio (Texas).  She is currently an Assistant Professor at Our Lady of the Lake University, located in San Antonio, Texas.  

Her thesis focus was the immune response and adaptability potential of symbiotic zooxanthellae (Symbiodinium sp.) from tropical scleractinian coral.  Briana was interested in changes in protective protein expression, cell death, and gene expression.
