Lake Sturgeon Graduate Research Assistantship

Dr. Carl Ruetz and Dr. Sean Woznicki are recruiting two graduate students (M.S. in Biology, Aquatic Science emphasis) to begin January or May 2025 to contribute to a project validating lake sturgeon habitat suitability indices to enhance conservation efforts. The students will work at the GVSU Annis Water Resources Institute (Muskegon, Michigan) and collaborate with scientists from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, and Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Both assistantships are fully-funded (annual stipend and tuition) for two years. Find more information and instructions on how to apply in this PDF.

Graduate Research Assistantships

The Annis Water Resources Institute (AWRI) at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) has several Graduate Research Assistantships available to full-time students interested in pursuing a Master of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis in aquatic sciences. Graduate assistantships include a generous 12-month stipend that is eligible for annual renewal. Accepted applicants will assist with research projects conducted by faculty and staff at AWRI in addition to performing research related to their thesis/project.
