What is Silktide?
Silktide is a tool that scans the university web pages for spelling errors, broken links, and accessibility errors.
How does Silktide Work?
Silktide automatically scans all of your pages for any spelling errors, broken links, and any accessibility issues.
How do I get access to Silktide?
How will Silktide notify me of any issues?
Anytime a scan is done, it will e-mail you the results. A scan is done automatically on a weekly basis. Therefore, you will receive an e-mail on a weekly basis.
However, if you choose to do a manual scan it will e-mail you when that scan is complete.
I am logged in - Now What?
You will see a score on four different areas - Overall, Quality, Marketing, and Accessibility. If you click on any of those scores, it will then take you to a page where you can make adjustments.
Do I need to keep my Overall Score above a number?
Yes - The overall score needs to be above an 80. If the score is not above an 80, you run the risk of your site being disabled.
I fixed an issue that Silktide reported - How can I test the page again?
Log into Silktide and there is a button in the top right corner that says Retest. Click that and your page will be retested.
I think my page has a high score - Can I compare my score to the scores of others?
Yes! If you click on the Trophy icon on the left hand side, you can then see the leaderboard breakdown for all sites.
What do the different colored exclamation marks mean?
The priority of the action is indicated by which color the exclamation mark is. Red means highest priority, then Orange, Yellow, and Grey for the lowest priority.
What about analytics? Can I still see that information?
Yep! Analytics are now built into the CMS. Learn about analytics by checking out the What's New post.
