The DeVos Medical Ethics Colloquy was established in 2005 by Richard and Helen DeVos in response to a need for a forum where topics of medical and ethical significance could be discussed under guidance from experts. Grand Valley State University will now host this established medical ethics speaker series thanks to a gift from the Richard and Helen DeVos Foundation. The proceedings of the Colloquy are printed and distributed free of charge to institutions and interested individuals.
Since it's inception, the Colloquy has functioned under the leadership of Dr. Luis Tomatis. In June of 2015, the Colloquy administration transitioned to the Office of the Vice Provost for Health at Grand Valley State University under the direction of Dr. Jean Nagelkerk. Dr. Tomatis will continue to be involved with the Colloquy serving as secretary of the organizing committee.
Questions about the Colloquy events may be directed to the Office of the Vice Provost for Health at dykstrdi@gvsu or by calling 616-331-5876.
