Jason Lee Starin, BFA, Studio Art (Ceramics), 1999

"A career in the arts is about persistence, it never ends. Learn to gracefully accept rejection over and over again. Learn from it. How can you improve? If you want something really bad, apply often to the same call, year after year until you get it."

NICK CILIAK, BFA, GRAPHIC DESIGN, 2016

"My favorite memory of being a student was the collaborative feeling of the Calder Art Center. I feel like you could walk into that building at any time of the day and find other students to hang out with and work on projects with."

ABBEY HUNTER, BFA, JEWELRY AND METALS, 2010

"Careers don't have to be set in stone. Find what interests you and go for it. If you hate it after 10 years, you're still young and can change direction."

ALAINA CLARKE, BFA, JEWELRY AND METALS, 2009 AND MASTERS OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION: NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP, 2015

"You're not always going to know what you want to do and that is okay. Exploring your options is a great skill to learn. Some people find that they can utilize the skills they have in a nontraditional way."
