Professor Egan&#39\;s research suggests that\n\nargonauts were powerful royal symbols\, on par with fearsome Aegean &ldquo\;totems&rdquo\; like\n\nlions and griffins. The painted forms offer rare insight into the thought processes\n\nand working methods of Greek Bronze Age artists.
