Folds of Honor scholarships for the family members of fallen or disabled service-members and first responders

There are two Folds of Honor scholarships for the family members of fallen or disabled service-members.

The Grand Valley State University Folds of Honor Scholarship is available to students who have an immediate family member (spouse or parent) who has been killed in the line of duty while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. Grand Valley students may access the GVSU Folds of Honor Scholarship Application by signing into myScholarships and searching for "Folds of Honor" or go to https://gvsu.academicworks.com/ 

The National Folds of Honor Scholarship provides up to $5000/year to the Children’s Fund (K-12) and Higher Education Scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members and first responders. Families may access the National Folds of Honor Scholarship Application between February 1 and March 31 at: https://www.foldsofhonor.org/scholarships/

National Folds of Honor Scholarships are intended for the surviving spouses and children of service members (and first responders) who were:

-Killed in action

-Suffered the loss of a limb

-Died (any cause) while on active duty

-OR-  

-Classified as having a service-connected disability

-Rated at 90-100% disabled by the VA
