GVSU Auto Suppliers Symposium addresses changing industry

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Automotive experts will discuss changing technology and new tooling requirements for auto suppliers at the 19th West Michigan Automotive Suppliers Symposium, hosted by Grand Valley State University's Van Andel Global Trade Center.
The event will be held March 8 on Grand Valley's Pew Grand Rapids Campus. The theme for this year's symposium is "Smart Moves: Tech, Tools, Talent."
The yearly event brings together business owners, senior management and decision makers from all tiers of the industry, providing the most up-to-date automotive forecasts and trends, and opportunities to network.

Speakers for the event:
• Ed Wulbrecht, senior vice president of manufacturing for Subaru of Indiana Automotive, is the keynote speaker. Wulbrecht began his career at Ford Motor Company as an assembly plant engineer, eventually moving into manufacturing management.
• Mike Wall, director of automotive analysis for IHS Markit, will talk about the outlook for the auto industry. Wall has 20 years of experience in consulting, forecasting and evaluating trends and vehicle markets.
• Daron Gifford, leader of strategy and automotive consulting for Plante Moran, has more than four decades of industry experience in automotive, manufacturing and energy.
• Scott McCormick, president of Connected Vehicle Trade Association, was appointed by Congress to advise the secretary of transportation on matters relating to the study, development and implementation of Intelligent Transportation Systems in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
