Scott Stabler is the faculty director for the Ghana Honors Program

• Associate professor of History and Social Studies
• PhD from Arizona State; MA from the University of Houston; BA from Baylor University
• Fulbright Scholar to Ghana in 2011
• Taught in Germany in 2012
• Published an article on Ghana and the Trans-Atlantic slave trade with a Ghanaian scholar
• Works with GVSU’s Freshmen Academy Program

 

Scott Stabler on Study Abroad

As a undergraduate student, there was no bigger regret than not studying abroad. Since getting the “travel bug” in 2000, I have been all over Europe and to Ghana twice. I am looking forward to returning to Ghana, as are my wife and seven-year-old daughter.
