Andre Rieu is a Dutch violinist and conductor best known for creating the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra. Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra have turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring music act, as successful as some of the biggest global pop and rock music acts.

Doutzen Kroes is a Dutch model and one of the Victoria’s Secret Angels. She started to work for the brand in 2004 and became an Angel in 2008. She is considered one of the world’s top earning supermodels. She has walked shows for among others Gucci, Valentino, Versace, Calvin Klein and she has been on the cover of many magazines, among which Time, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Avantgarde. She even has a wax figure in the Amsterdam Madame Tussaud’s.

Robin van Persie is a Dutch footballer who plays as a striker for Manchester United and is the captain of the Netherlands national team. He is a youth product of Feyenoord. Having joined Arsenal in 2004, Van Persie became the club captain on 16 August 2011, one year before he joined rivals Manchester United. He is recognized as one of the best strikers in the world.

Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was a painter and etcher. He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history.

Vincent Willem van Gogh was a post-Impressionist painter of Dutch origin whose work—notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty, and bold color—had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. After years of painful anxiety and frequent bouts of mental illness, he died aged 37 from a gunshot wound, generally accepted to be self-inflicted (although no gun was ever found). His work was then known to only a handful of people and appreciated by fewer still.


Willem-Alexander is the King of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, consisting of the countries of the Netherlands, Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten. He is head of the Dutch royal house and the House of Amsberg.

Mark Rutte is a Dutch politician who has been the Prime Minister of the Netherlands since 14 October 2010 and the Leader of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie - VVD) since 29 June 2006. He previously served as State Secretary for Social Affairs and Employment from 22 July 2002 to 17 June 2004, and State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science from 17 June 2004 until 27 June 2006, when he was elected to succeed Jozias van Aartsen as the new VVD Leader. At the general election in 2010, Rutte became Prime Minister and formed a Cabinet. When he was sworn in on 14 October 2010, he became the first Liberal Prime Minister of the Netherlands in 92 years.

Geert Wilders is a Dutch right-wing politician and the founder and leader of the Party for Freedom, the fourth-largest political party in the Netherlands. Wilders is the Parliamentary group leader of his party in the Dutch House of Representatives.
