2022 Cost Breakdown for University of Deusto: CIDE Semester

This is the estimated budget for this study abroad program. It serves as an estimated cost of attendance for your semester or year abroad. Students often pay for study abroad through a combination of financial aid, personal funds, scholarships, grants, and alternative loans. The total amount listed as the Total Program Cost is the maximum amount of financial aid that can be awarded to you by GVSU. This total program cost does not reflect the amount of aid you will qualify for, rather, it serves as the cap on what can be awarded.

IS 380 Course Fee


Paid to GVSU. The course fee for IS 380 is $28 per credit hour. Participants on this program will register for 12 credits of IS 380.

Chubb Insurance


Chubb health insurance is required for all participants. The cost is $1.46 per day. This cost estimate is based on 120 days. The actual number of days for this program may vary. This is provided as a general estimate.

This cost is paid to Deusto. It includes:

Range $2,300-$5,500

Residence Halls (including meals and utilities): $1,353 USD per month. Expect to pay around $5,500 per semester.

Homestay with full board: $820 per month. Expect to pay between $3,300 - $3,600 per semester.

Shared local apartment (meals not included): $400 - $700 per month . Expect to pay between $2,300 - $4,000 per semester (includes estimate with utilities).

UD offers several housing options. Costs listed here are estimates based on residence halls near campus with and without meals or homestay options. Students should visit the UD website for details on housing options. Based on 4 months

Optional on-site personal expenses based on $500 per month for 4 months.

$19,839 (estimated cost for out-of-state students who do not receive the tuition differential scholarship)

Out-of-state students who receive a GVSU tuition differential scholarship will be able to use that scholarship towards the cost of this program. Exception: International students will not have access to the tuition differential scholarship for use towards the cost of study abroad, however, they may still be eligible for the Partnership Grant.

The Padnos International Center will be providing Partnership Grant for the 2022 academic year. Conditions apply . Additional information is available on the PIC website under "Financial Planning."


*Based on in-state, upper-division tuition rates for 12-15 credits. If you complete more than 15 GVSU credits during your semester abroad, tuition charges for the additional credit above 15 will be billed to your GVSU student account after you return and PIC completes the transfer of credit.
