Dr. Loren Rullman serves as Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Grand Valley State University, and has worked in student affairs administration for 30 years at five universities. Prior to joining GVSU this summer, he served as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Throughout his career, Loren has been an organizational leader, a place-maker, a culture-setter, and a people developer.
He has been a presenter at over 40 conferences; an author of 12 journal articles and book chapters; a consultant for two dozen universities; and served on the Board of Directors for both the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education and the Association of College Unions International. Loren also served as Program Coordinator and Adjunct Faculty for the Student Personnel in Higher Education graduate program at Concordia University Ann Arbor.
Loren is a member of Phi Kappa Phi academic honorary society; grew up in northern Michigan; loves to drive his 1967 Mustang Convertible; has lived in both England and Mexico; and is passionate about uncovering organizational aspirations, unlocking potential in people, and cares deeply about the student experience.
