Outcome T language and Linguistics

Students will demonstrate the knowledge of the language and linguistic elements.
Objective 1055 Students will demonstrate the knowledge of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse. Students will have competency of play their role in developing literacy.
Objective 1057 Students will master the knowledge of the linguistic elements (e.g., phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse) of English and will understand the ways of language varies across subject areas. Students develop the competence of deal with the discursive and grammatical challenges of language use in different subjects and social context.

Outcome U Culture, Literatures, Cross-Disciplinary Concepts

Students will demonstrate understanding the role of culture in language development and academic achievement.
Objective 1056 Students will write a research paper in which they demonstrate their understanding of the major concepts, principles, and theories related to the role of culture in language development, academic achievement, and learner's identities.

Outcome V English Language Instructional Practices considering Second Language Development Theories

Demonstrate capacity to integrate second language acquisition theories into ESL teaching practices, which include standards, differentiated instruction, assessment, student-centered practices.
Objective 1058 1) Students will plan and implementing a variety of instructional practice within an inclusive and supportive classroom-learning environment. 2) Students will apply second language development theories and research to choose and adapt classroom instructional resources based on the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
