350 GVSU Students Give Back on Make a Difference Day

On October 12, Grand Valley State University students went out into the community for a national day of service known as Make A Difference Day. The annual event, hosted by GVSU’S Community Service Learning Center, sent over 350 students out to help nonprofit service agencies in the Grand Rapids and Allendale area.

This year, students went out to places such as Kids Food Basket, Townsend Park, and Urban Roots where they spent the day packing lunches, picking up litter, and helping with gardening. In total, they collectively completed 1,160 hours of service together.
