Statistics at GVSU

About Us

Statistics is the science dedicated to the collection, organization, analysis, and interpretation of data. With the development of technology the collection of data has become ubiquitous, and it is vitally important that educated people be able to make sense of such large amounts of data.

The Statistics Department offers a major in Statistics (with a potential emphasis in Actuarial Science) as well as three undergraduate minors: Applied StatisticsMathematical Statistics, and Data Science. In addition, our department offers a Professional Science Master’s degree in Biostatistics, M.S. in Applied Statistics, and M.S. in Data Science and Analytics. We are a unit of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
