Career Fair Description
The School of Social Work Bridges to Employment Conference &
Career Fair is designed to help prepare graduating social work
students for life after graduation. Topics that will be covered are
licensure, post graduate supervision, resumes and interviewing, and
others. The conference will also feature up to 20 social service
agencies throughout West Michigan, some taking applications for social
work positions. The Career Fair portion will be from 2:00-4:00pm in
the Hager-Lubbers Exhibition Hall. While at the fair, don't
forget to stop by the GVSU MSW Program Admissions table and ask a
question and receive a gift! See below for a tentative
schedule of the workshops and presentations available.
11-12:00: Student check-in and
registration
12-12:50: CareerLab*, Mandated Reporting, Getting
Licensed - MSW Licensure, or Resumes
1-1:50: CareerLab, Clinical Exam Strategies, Resumes,
or Interviewing Employer Panel
2-2:50: CareerLab, BSWSO Employment Readiness, What
to do with Your First Job Offer, or Getting Licensed - BSW Licensure
2-4: Career Fair
*CareerLab is a place to get one-on-one advice from a career
advisor on resumes, networking, etc.
