Please join us in congratulating Tommy Schick on being awarded the
August 2025 Rec Star!
Tommy currently serves as a Student Building Supervisor at the Rec
Center, a role he has stepped into since joining our team in 2023.
Known for his positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to go
above and beyond, Tommy has been an integral part of our operations.
His leadership skills and dedication ensure that both patrons and
fellow student employees feel welcomed and supported during every
shift. Academically, Tommy is pursuing a degree in secondary education
with a focus on mathematics, with the goal of becoming a high school
math teacher. His passion for teaching and helping others shines
through in his work, as he often takes the time to mentor new staff
and assist patrons with patience and enthusiasm. Outside of his
academic and work commitments, Tommy is an active participant in
campus life. He enjoys playing slowpitch softball, pitching, and
joining in on intramural sports—as well as finding time for many other
recreational activities that keep him connected to the GV community.
We are incredibly thankful to have had Tommy on our team for the past
few years. When asked about his experience at the Rec Center, Tommy
shared, "I truly believe this is the best job on
campus." His dedication, energy, and team spirit make him a
valued member of our staff and a shining example of what it means to
be a Rec Star. Congratulations, Tommy—this recognition is well deserved!
