What do they do: Our philosophy focuses on harm reduction and building awareness about making healthy and safe choices regarding alcohol and other drugs. Drinking behavior on campuses includes abstinence, safe and responsible drinking, binge drinking and dangerous drinking. The needs of Grand Valley's campus community vary greatly, our programs focus on providing a variety of quality services in three main areas:

What do they do: The Dean of Students Office provides advocacy and support for students and families/supporters. The main office is located in the Lubbers Student Services Center on the Allendale Campus.  Faculty, staff, parents, supporters, and community members may use the CARE referral process for students of concern.

What do they do: They assist student organizations and campus departments to find the best space to host meetings and events.  If you would like to make a reservation for space in the Kirkhof Center, Cook-DeWitt Center, Henry Hall Atrium, Lake Ontario Hall room 167, or an outdoor location, please contact us.

What do they do: The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is committed to building a diverse and inclusive campus. Through its comprehensive programs and services, OMA fosters an appreciation and respect for the history, tradition, and culture of different ethnic groups, and empowers students to be active learners. What do they do: Our team works to provide assistance through supportive measures, or campus modifications, designed to protect your safety and preserve or restore your ability to participate in GVSU’s programs and activities. What do they do: The Office of Student Life: Civic Engagement works in close collaboration with two specific strategic partners in this work on campus, in order to provide students, faculty and staff, and community partners with a holistic, cohesive approach to community engagement.

What do they do: Our clients include offices, departments, and student organizations from across the university. We produce a wide range of promotional materials in various mediums including print, video, photo, as well as provide a handful of other services.

What do they do: Success Coaches work with students to provide tools, strategies, and resources to help them in their academic journey here at Grand Valley. Using a holistic approach, in addition to providing academic strategies, Success Coaches utilize a network of campus partners to assist with each student’s individual situation. One-on-one appointments with success coaches cover topics such as time management, organization, test-taking strategies, study skills, procrastination and motivation, goal-setting and other campus resources. We also provide virtual academic success workshops available to all students throughout the semester that cover similar topics.
