Intergenerational Immersion Opportunity

The Intergenerational Program at Samaritas Senior Living is now accepting student applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. This program is looking for GVSU students interested in an immersion experience within a vibrant senior community. Intergenerational engagement provides connections between residents and the broader community, enhances well-being for all participants, and reduces ageism and isolation. Each student chosen receives their own 1 bedroom apartment and 2 meals a day. In return – students pay $100 a month for room/board and provide 10 hours per week of volunteer services. Applications are due April 15, and include a short letter written to Samaritas residents stating why you wish to be part of the program and what you will bring to the experience, plus a faculty recommendation. Undergraduate and graduate students from any of the CHP programs are eligible. See the full program description.
