FAQs

How do I apply?  And by when?

Details here

Program Eligibility:

Participants typically have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA . Note: those with less than a 3.0 GPA are still eligible to apply but must explain their particular situation. Applicants should have a strong interest in the city of Detroit and in community-service learning.

Will my financial aid still be in place if I do the SID program?

YES!  You will register for courses and pay tuition through GVSU. The program requires you to take 12-15 credit hours, which is a full load, and therefore satisfies financial aid requirements.

Is there any financial assistance I can apply for?

YES!  GVSU is offering 3 need-based scholarships to cover the program fee.
