Description

The MLK Jr. Day of Service and Solidarity is part of a national day of service where campuses across America gather together to serve and stand in solidarity with their communities in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This event is coordinated by the Community Service Learning Center in collaboration with the MLK Week Executive Planning Committee. The goal of the event is to educate participants about the Civil Rights movement, as well as inspire them to engage in their communities by listening, learning, and advocating for social change on campus and beyond. This year GVSU faculty, staff, and students will come together for MLK Jr. Day of Service and Solidarity on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. starting with an inspiring keynote presentation and followed by a brief service project with local community partners.

This event also appears on the main events calendar tagged as cslc, dsa, service, and studentlife.
