I’m taking Seidman Success Standard course(s) over the summer at another institution, can I still register for classes on my date?

Don’t do Credit/No Credit
As a reminder, all of the cognate, core, and major courses taken at GVSU that are applied toward your business degree must be taken for a grade. This does not apply to transfer courses including CLEP, Study Abroad, and AP. This includes your cognate courses of CIS 150, STA 215, and if you choose PHI 103, MTH 122, or MTH 125 for the quantitative requirement.

Seidman’s Repeat Policy
Students may repeat up to three different business and economics courses in their undergraduate career, but no single business of economics course can be repeated more than once. Exceptions are made only with approval of the Associate Dean for Seidman Student Academic Services.

Apply to graduate the semester prior to completing requirements
Please submit your graduation application to the Registrar’s Office via myBanner. Select Student, Student Records, and Apply to Graduate. When selecting the term of graduation, students should select the semester in which their degree requirements will be complete. For questions regarding the application process please contact the Registrar, 150 Student Services Building, (616) 331-3327.

I plan to take a summer course at a different institution, where do I send my transcripts?
For any course taken outside of Grand Valley State University, official transcripts can be sent electronically through your previous institution to GVSU’s Records Office ([email protected]). Contact your institution for specific details on how to do so.

  • For the purpose of registering for Seidman courses, unofficial transcripts can be sent to [email protected] as soon as possible.

Send in your Official Transcripts
Official transcript(s) can be sent electronically to GVSU by your previous university through an electronic delivery service such as Docufide, Naviance, E Scrip-Safe, or by using the email [email protected]. Official transcripts and test scores must be received directly from the issuing institution.

Official transcripts not submitted online should be sent to:
Grand Valley State University
Admissions Office
1 Campus Drive
Allendale, MI 49401

Not having transfer work posted on your transcript may delay your eligibility to register for upper-level business and economic courses.
