Please join us Thursday, October 17 th at 6:30 pm for a talk and discussion with Dr. Volker Sick, the Director of the Global CO2 Initiative at the University of Michigan.
As the consequences of global warming become more evident - record-breaking floods, droughts, forest fires, etc. – the search for solutions becomes more urgent. What if we could capture carbon for useful purposes, like making bendable concrete or stronger, lighter metals for the transportation industry? Is carbon capture and sequestration a viable solution for solving the climate crisis, or is it a pipe dream that is diverting funds from other clean energy research? The Global CO2 Initiative at the University of Michigan has a team of scientists dedicated to answering these and similar questions.
Our evening begins at 6:30 pm in the GR Press Auditorium, located on the second floor of the Eberhard Center on Grand Valley’s downtown campus. Dr. Sick will introduce us to the work his team is doing and discuss the viability of this work in creating a healthy planet as well as a healthy economy for the future.
This event is being sponsored by the Koeze Business Ethics Initiative at the Seidman College of Business, and the CCE.
