REP4 Midwest Network Partner Agreement / 2022

Grand Valley is inviting you to partner with us in this initiative because your organization is composed of equity-minded leaders who are committed to inspiring the next generation to take full advantage of college opportunities. Before completing this agreement, administrators and organizational leaders must attend a virtual informational meeting  to learn more about the REP4 Midwest Learner Design Summit.

Partner Organization

This Midwest Network Partner Agreement, “Agreement”, made by and between the “Partner Organization” listed below and Grand Valley State University, 1 Campus Drive, Allendale, Michigan, 49401, “GVSU”, is entered into for the following purpose:

To create a network with like-minded organizations who are leading unique dimensions of service to high school aged learners. To empower students in their own educational journeys and transform public higher education and build new equitable expressways shaped by hundreds of diverse and trained learner co-designers, convened and organized by GVSU.



Partner Organization Commitments
  • To convene and sustain a cohort of 10-20 high school student participants annually
  • To recruit a cohort of rising 11th and 12th graders from diverse backgrounds, but with an overrepresentation of students from low-income households, first in their family to go to college, and other historically marginalized students
  • To identify a consistent Adult Lead from the partner organization to convene, register, guide/engage, and retain the student cohort and participate in Adult Lead orientation virtual training, held: July 18 and 19 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
  • To guide cohort through Learner Design Summit experience, including one in-person selection on July 21 in Allendale (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) or July 23 in Detroit (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and virtual components held July 26-29 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m)
  • To participate in quarterly check-in meetings convened by GVSU
  • To agree to be available for the National Convening on September 22, 2022 as a synchronous, virtual REP4 event for all partners, learner participants, and invited guests
GVSU Commitment
  • To build and steward a robust network of innovative high schools and community-based organizations as partners
  • To designate an institutional point person/decision maker from GVSU with dedicated time, commitment and passion for engaging the network
  • To designate experts and staff to host the learner summit and annual national convening
  • To incubate worthy projects and share results across and beyond the REP4 national alliance to expand the impact of collective work
  • To provide philanthropy investment for the experience at zero cost to participants
  • To provide the benefits for participation outlined below, upon successful completion of the experience
Benefits for Adult Lead Participation
  • Admission application fee waiver and guaranteed admission upon successful completion of the experience
  • Professional development and personal network expansion
  • $1,000 Stipend
  • Opportunity to convert experience to university coursework for credit; continuing education, graduate education, or State Continuing Education Clock Hours credit through the Michigan Department of Education
Benefits for Student Participation
  • Admission application fee waiver and guaranteed admission upon successful completion of the experience
  • College course credit-awarding opportunities that count toward graduation: 2 credits for Midwest Learner Design Summit participation and/or 3 credits with Fall 2022 dual enrollment
  • $500 stipend
  • GV Pledge free tuition for participants with Family AGI and Assets of $50,000 or less, as reported on the FAFSA
  • T4 Scholarship competition for rising 12th graders who will be first generation college students
  • Learn and practice Design Thinking and gain entrepreneurial skills
  • Connect with peers, coaches, and professionals to support future and lifelong learning
  • Engage in student capacity building for college and career opportunities
