Healthy Resources

GV Healthy Choice Logo

Healthy Choices

We support healthy choices while eating on campus. Campus Dining offers a list of healthier choices to help you make informed decisions.

The GV Healthy Choice logo can be found on foods lower in calories, saturated fats, and sodium in Campus Dining locations.

Nutrition Apps

My Fitness Pal

A diet and fitness tracking  offers a food diary and exercise log  with an extensive nutrition data base.  A variety of helpful tools including a recipe nutrition facts calculator and progress reports.  Another feature is the community forum where you can share experiences and get advice from others.

Fooducate

A grocery shopping app that analyzes information found in product nutrition panels and ingredient lists.  When you scan product bar codes you discover things manufacturers don't want you to notice.  Fooducate provides a personalized nutrition grade (A, B, C or D).  It tells you about the products pros and cons as well as healthier alternatives.

ShopWell

A grocery shopping app that you can customize to your personal nutrition & health goals.  The app is helpful if you have a food allergy or intolerance. ShopWell deciphers the ingredient list of products to identify which ones contain the allergens you are trying to avoid.  You can scan foods using the app and then add them to a shopping list, or browse their database of foods to find those that meet your health goals and special needs.

Yummly

A recipe app with an extensive data base that offers a wide variety of filters so you can narrow your search.  A nice feature of the app is you can search for recipes that exclude ingredients you are allergic or intolerant to.
