DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, October 17th GVSU is hosting the Trauma &amp\; Resilience Conference at the Eberhard Center. This is a great opportunity to learn from leaders in the field and dive into critical issues related to trauma\, resilience\, and mental health that directly impact psychology practice.\n\n\n\nWe&rsquo\;re bringing together experts who are doing transformative work in the areas of trauma and poverty\:\n\n\n\n&bull\; Marcella Wilson\, author of Diagnosis\: Poverty and creator of the Transition to Success model\, which redefines poverty as a treatable condition. Her model is used nationwide to coordinate care across sectors and support individuals and families facing poverty.\n\n\n\n&bull\; Velshonna Luckey\, Executive Director of the Self-Healing Communities of Michiana\, leads a movement that uses science-based approaches (NEAR-P Science) to reduce trauma and toxic stress while fostering resilience in communities.\n\n\n\n&bull\; Dr. Jim Henry\, founder of the Children&rsquo\;s Trauma Assessment Center at Western Michigan University\, has helped countless children and families overcome trauma.
