Shannon McCormick to give talk
May 06, 2016
Our own Shannon McCormick, of the Biostatistics program, will be speaking at the Google I/O Extended event on May 18th. Google I/O is an annual event hosted by Google to highlight the latest in technology and product innovation. It covers topics such as the Internet of Things (IoT), working with material design, advancements in mobile technology, and more.
Shannon will be presenting on Neural Networks and Google TensorFlow and the group has invited many more local and regional speakers to share live presentations on tech, design, and start-ups. Billed as being more local and Googly than the past two years, the event will be hosted at the Harris Building, which has been an icon in the Heartside District for more than a century. They’ve also partnered with Propaganda Doughnuts, Lantern Coffee, the Gilmore Collection, and New Holland Brewing. And, let’s not forget foosball and a live band at the after-party.
See Google I/O Extended for more information (much of this was taken directly from their website). Registration is $50 for an all-day event and probably includes some food.
