Shaun Brodie

Shaun Brodie

Shaun Brodie graduated from Grand Valley in 2007 with a BA in political science. Afterwards, he attended a graduate program in political science at Marshall University and graduated from the George Mason University School of Law in 2011. While in law school, Shaun served as an editor for the Journal of Law, Economics and Policy, and wrote on ERISA Title IV enforcement against private equity firms. Following Law School, Shaun worked for the Social Security Administration's Office of Appellate Operations where he specializes in federal administrative appeals.

Shaun credits his professors at Grand Valley for instilling a desire to give back, a knack for community involvement, and, thanks to Professor Richards, a strong sense of pragmatism. It was through interactions with professors that Shaun decided to go to grad school, study abroad, and, thanks to more than a few courses with Professor Tafel, even live in Europe for a short period, an experience that continues to pay dividends in his life today.

Shaun worked as a Senior Attorney for the Social Security Administration for several years after law school. He is now Senior Staff Attorney for the Benefits Review Board at the U.S. Department of Labor.
