Cargill Wins Seykora Award

Political Science major Ke'Asha Cargill has won the Thomas M. Seykora Award for Outstanding Contribution for 2022-23. The Seykora Award recognizes seniors who, through their involvement, have made significant contributions to the GVSU campus community.

Ke’Asha’s contributions have come in multiple forms. She has worked as a Resident Assistant in campus housing, for the GVSU Admissions Office, and as a writing consultant at the university’s Writing Center. She has also been a Cook Leadership Academy fellow, a Student Senate representative and committee member, an officer of the Student Environmental Coalition, and a member of the Campus Life University Committee. Last year, Ke’Asha won the Paul B. Henry Congressional Fellowship awarded by our department, which supported her summer internship for U.S. Senator Gary Peters.

Ke’Asha will graduate from GVSU this spring and plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Congratulations, Ke’Asha!
