Craig Wins GV in DC Scholarship

The Political Science Department is pleased to announce that Samantha Craig is our GV in DC Scholarship winner for 2022. Samantha is a double major in Political Science and Criminal Justice, with a minor in Human Rights, who will be entering her junior year this fall. This summer she is studying and interning in DC through The Washington Center. Samantha is interning with the National Legal Aid and Defenders Association, a nonprofit that works to provide legal assistance to those who cannot afford it. Specifically, she is working for the Racial Equity Initiative, which serves the purpose of creating anti-racist practices and projects within the network. Her daily work includes researching different techniques to create a more diverse and inclusive association, along with writing short articles for the REI newsletter. Currently, she is working on articles about Juneteenth and Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The Political Science faculty warmly congratulates Samantha on winning this scholarship, and we thank all those who have contributed toward the GV in DC Endowment Fund.
