Rockwell Automation donates $13k in equipment for electrical engineering courses

Rockwell Automation recently donated $13,400 in Allen-Bradley equipment, which allows the School of Engineering to add 22 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) stations to the EGR226 Introduction to Digital Systems course. The new equipment will allow all engineering students to have PLC hands-on experience prior to entering their Co-op rotations, directly benefitting both students and industry sponsors.

The Rockwell Automation donation included all the components necessary to build the 22 lab stations. The parts included Micro 810 PLCs, LCD displays, power supplies, terminals, fuse blocks, DIN rail, and LED backlit pushbuttons. The assembly work will be done by GVSU graduate students.
