The Sechia Breakfast Series. An introduction at one of the breakfasts allowed one connection to another, which landed me an internship, provided me with a full-time position, and provided me with my current job.

Some of my favorite memories come from my time as a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, particularly during my term as President. One standout event I always reminisce about is our collaboration with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

I have great memories from GVSU including welcome week freshman year, my first year Honors College sequence, traveling to Washington DC to present with a group of peers, and sharing research during Student Scholars Day.

I loved my time working at the GVSU Alumni Relations Office as a student communications assistant. I had a great time facilitating the alumni events and bugging the student graphic designer, who remains one of my closest friends.

I was given the opportunity to complete my teacher assisting in Stellenbosch, South Africa with a group of school of education students. We stayed with host families and also did some traveling for 6 weeks. It was the opportunity of a lifetime. 2.

I love how small my program was at the time. I made some great friends with both students and faculty in my program. I never would have had that experience at a larger university, and I truly believe that set me up for success post-graduation!

One of my favorite memories was meeting and interacting with the residents on my floor. I enjoyed getting to know them and helping them as they started their journey at Grand Valley.

My favorite memory was randomly being filmed for the "LipDub" in 2010 and playing GVSU Rugby with my best mates!

My favorite Grand Valley memory was when I proposed to my wife, Valerie, with the Laker Marching Band playing behind us. We met during our freshman year in the LMB and have now been together for almost 9 years.

Having the opportunity to learn more about my favorite subjects on one campus was so special. I will never forget how thankful I felt to be able to live the dream of pursuing both dance and biology.
