Grand Valley State University’s Muskegon Regional Center can help!

The Muskegon Regional Center is located on the campus of Muskegon Community College (MCC) at 221 S. Quarterline Road, Room 1106.  With knowledgeable staff, we provide services in the areas of academic and career advising, assist with payments, registrations, financial aid, admissions and disability support.

Shawn Jenkins, Ed.S, Director, Muskegon Regional Center
Shawn works with all students seeking to transfer to GVSU and students of the university seeking to take two year college credit for reverse transfer. Transfer students receive pre-advising, assistance with selecting two year curriculum guide, assistance with transfer courses and their equivalent, guidance with financial aid and scholarships, and guidance with the application process. Shawn is a resource to connect transfer students to the appropriate university resource or department.

Rachel Becklin, M.Ed., Assistant Director, Career Services
Rachel is available to help with job/internship search related needs such as building a resume, interviewing and using effective search techniques.

Joel Wendland, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Liberal Studies
Joel has taught in the Liberal Studies Department since 2009. He specializes in American Studies, and teaches courses such as LIB 100: Reflect, Connect, Engage, LIB 201: Diversity in the U.S., and LIB 301: Interdisciplinary Research Methods.

Shontaye Witcher, ED.S., Director, Disability Support Resources
Shontaye provides support services and accommodations that enhance the learning environment for students with disabilities. She is also available to meet and discuss accommodation needs with students who would like to transition to GVSU.
