Special Substitutions for Students Studying Mathematics and Computer Science

Approved March 2013 by the Department of Mathematics and the School of Computing and Information Systems and updated October 2018

  • For mathematics majors who also have a major or minor in computer science, the School of Computing and Information Systems will substitute  MTH 210 for MTH 225 in the CS major/minor and will substitute MTH 315 for MTH 325 in the CS major.
  • For computer science majors who have a minor in mathematics (not for teacher certification), the Department of Mathematics will allow MTH 225 to substitute for MTH 210 in the minor, provided that the “two additional mathematics or statistics courses” are MTH 325 and another 300- or 400-level mathematics course (i.e., not a statistics course).
