Description
Argan is a hopeless hypochondriac, who fears he has every disease known to the world. As medical bills deplete his wealth, he makes plans to force his daughter, Angelique, to marry a buffoonish doctor. However, Angelique has her sights fixed elsewhere, and aided by the witty servant, Toinette, she sets in motion a plan that turns Argan's world upside down. This crazy 17th century Moliere comedy with musical interludes is transported to 1950s America, but the disguises, deception, confusion, and cross-dressing remain intact. WARNING: Side effects of this play may include laughter, joy, and song!
