Description
The GVSU Trumpet Day is an opportunity for middle and high school trumpeters to spend a day at GVSU rehearsing, performing and learning more about trumpet technique with Dr. Alex Wilson, the GVSU Trumpet Studio, and guest artist Charley Lea.
The event will include:
- Trumpet masterclass with guest artist Charley Lea
- Mass trumpet ensemble rehearsal, including all Trumpet Day attendees and members of the GVSU Trumpet Studio, directed by Dr. Wilson
- Trumpet Day 2022 Recital, including performances by soloists, ensembles, and the mass trumpet ensemble. Performances of Solo & Ensemble pieces are welcome!
SCHEDULE
12:45 PM - 1:00 PM: Check-in at the Haas Center for the Performing Arts (HCPA) Lobby, across from the entrance to the Louis Armstrong Theatre
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Trumpet Masterclass with guest artist Charley Lea in HCPA 1515
3:15 PM - 4:30 PM: Mass Trumpet Ensemble Rehearsal (GVSU Trumpet Studio + all event participants) in HCPA 1410
4:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Break
5:00 p.m.: Recital in HCPA 1515
