Brass players! Looking for a chance to play great chamber ensemble repertoire, hear recitals by world-class performers, and work with those same performers to hone your skills as a solo and collaborative musician? The GVSU International Brass Seminar offers all that and more!
Rooted in the tradition of Grand Valley's wildly successful trumpet seminars, the International Brass Seminar includes daily warm-up classes, masterclasses, chamber ensemble coachings, and solo and chamber recitals by GVSU brass faculty and guest artists from around the world. Attendees are welcome to register as pre-formed brass chamber ensembles, or be grouped into ensembles after a very brief audition upon arrival. All ensembles will work together throughout the seminar to ready a piece for performance on the final seminar concert. The final concert will also include a mass ensemble and the winners of the high school and college divisions of the concerto competition.
The seminar will be held from July 17 - 21, 2018, with check-in beginning at 1pm on Tuesday, July 17, and the final concert taking place from 1pm-3pm on Saturday, July 21.
All seminar events will take place in the beautiful, recently-renovated, Thomas J. and Marcia J. Haas Center for Performing Arts on GVSU's campus in Allendale, Michigan.

Tuition: $350 (discounted to $300 for registrations received by May 15)

Meals only: $100
Attendees choosing to room on campus will be housed in the Niemeyer or Murray Living Centers, both of which are next door to the Haas Center for the Performing Arts, where all the seminar events will take place.
Meals include lunch and dinner at the Fresh Food Company, an all-you-care-to-eat dining facility, as well as light, informal breakfasts in the Haas Center.
