Brian De Young teaches Keyboard Musicianship and Introduction to Music Literature at GVSU.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in organ performance from Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA, a Piano Pedagogy Certificate from Grand Valley State University, and has completed graduate work in church music at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.

A musician of wide-ranging interests, Brian has taught and performed musical theatre, opera, and chamber music throughout the Midwest.  He has worked with the Sioux County (Iowa) Oratorio Chorus and Saugatuck Civic Theatre, and has performed with members of the Chicago, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Sioux City Symphonies at events such as the Saugatuck Chamber Music Festival, White Lake Chamber Music Festival, and Grand Rapids Symphony Bach Fest.  He is also a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus and has directed church choirs in Minnesota, Iowa, and Michigan.  He is currently the Director of Music at Zion Lutheran Church in Comstock Park, MI.
