2015 Fayette Historic State Park Clean-Up Event

2015 Fayette State Park Group Photo

We came to the UP and conquered many tasks that laid before us at this historic state park.

Our 130+ volunteers sided a building, painted the superintendent's quarters, cleared brush, prepped the historic hotel for plastering, just to name a few.  The results were amazing!  In one day, their work resulted in over $25,000 in saved labor, and $30,000 in materials/supplies

About Fayette State Park

Fayette Historic State Park, the second 2015 clean up event, offers volunteers a unique opportunity to discover and revamp the story of a 19th century iron-smelting town on the shoreline of Big Bay De Noc in the U.P.’s Garden Peninsula. This once bustling industrial community will be bustling with volunteers working to make the area a place that everyone can continue to enjoy. Built in the late 1800s, the historic hotel is one site volunteers help restore.
