Join the Milton E. Ford LGBT Resource Center as we celebrate and honor the people who have made a significant and positive impact on the LGBTQIA+ community at GVSU this academic year.

We will recognize participants, student facilitators, and emerging leaders from our student-led programs including First-Year Queer Alliance, Colors of Pride, Ace of Clubs, and T2. Please nominate campus and community partners for the following awards by using this form.  

Milton E. Ford LGBT Leadership Award

The Milton E. Ford LGBT Leadership Award is awarded to an individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership in support of the LGBTQIA+ community. The recipient of this award has had a lasting, positive impact on the LGBTQIA+ community both within and beyond Grand Valley State University. 

Solidarity Award

The Solidarity Award is awarded to an individual who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to supporting and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community. The individual who receives this award has demonstrated sustained advocacy at the intersection of identities for the personal, cultural, and systemic inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people.

Faculty Engagement Award

The Faculty Engagement Award is awarded to a faculty member who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to and enthusiasm for engaging with LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff. This award recognizes the recipient’s support for the personal, academic, and professional success of LGBTQIA+ campus community members through scholarship, service, and/or teaching.

Outstanding Student Leader Award

The Outstanding Student Leader Award is awarded to a student who demonstrates exceptional initiative, enthusiasm, and dedication to the LGBTQIA+ community at Grand Valley State University. The student receiving this award has promoted the success, inclusion, and well-being of current and future LGBTQIA+ people on campus and beyond.

Service to Community Award

The Service to Community Award is awarded to an individual who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ people. The recipient of this award has made a substantial contribution toward advancing the interests, health, and well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community.
