File Access - Off Campus

Students

  • Students can access their saved files via https://mystudentdata.gvsu.edu.
  • Log in with your GVSU email address and password.
  • Once logged in you can upload and download files to your private network storage drive.

Faculty/Staff

  • Windows 10: If you are using a GVSU owned Windows 10 machine, you can access your network data on or off campus without the VPN.
    • If you run into connection issues, verify that DirectAccess is "Connected" by clicking on the Wi-Fi icon in your system tray. If DirectAccess does not say "Connected" or is stuck in a "Connecting" state, restart your computer (make sure you click "restart", not "shut down").
  • Mac OS: If you are using a GVSU owned Apple machine, connect to the VPN using Pulse Secure. Once connected you should see the network "DFS" drive appear on your desktop.
    • If you do not see the DFS drive, make sure the Enterprise Connect application is connected by clicking on the menu bar icon that looks like a key inside of a circle and selecting "Connect" or "Reconnect".
  • Personal/Private Device: Connect to the VPN using Pulse Secure, then open a browser, navigate to https://mydata.gvsu.edu, and log in with your full GVSU email address and password.
    • Once you've signed into mydata.gvsu.edu you can upload and download files on all of your your private and departmental network storage drives.
