Social Innovation Master's Projects

Students pursuing the Professional Master of Arts in Social Innovation are required to complete SI 690: Social Innovation Research Design and SI 693: Master's Project in Social Innovation. Guidelines for culminating master's projects, along with other helpful resources, are provided by The Graduate School. Requirements for research design and final projects will be discussed in detail during SI 690 class meetings. Students should regularly consult with their SI 690 instructor and their project advisor for guidance and support toward the completion of their culminating experiences.

2021-2022 Presentation Dates

Save the dates and register to attend the Summer 2021, Fall 2021, and Winter 2022 presentations by Social Innovation students in SI 690 and SI 693 as they showcase their research proposals and culminating projects. All presentations for the 2021-2022 academic year will be virtual. Students will pre-record their presentations through Panopto, which will then be shared at the event, followed by a live Q&A session.

Submission Due Dates

Following their formal presentations, students in SI 690 and SI 693 are required to submit their final proposals and projects for approval online through our SI Master's Project Approval site. For SI 693, students may download this title page template to include within their final document. The online form and all accompanying project documents will be reviewed and signed by the student's SI 690 instructor, project advisor, Graduate Program Director, and IRIS Department Chair. Once all signatures are obtained, a copy of the signed approval form will be emailed to the student. If any follow-up work is needed before approval is received, the student will be notified and may re-submit the form after edits have been made. Note: For SI students, the online project approval form replaces the "project final approval form" found in The Graduate School's guidelines for culminating master's projects

The due dates for submission to the SI Master's Project Approval site are:

  • SUMMER 2021: August 2, 2021
  • FALL 2021: December 6, 2021
  • WINTER 2022: April 18, 2022
