Year of Interfaith Healing Draft flyer

We are pleased to announce 2021 as our Year of Interfaith Healing!

Amid a pandemic season filled with immense challenges, disparities, and divisions, the Kaufman Interfaith Institute continues to bring people together and promote understanding. Like so many others, we have made the pivot to online activity and are eager to roll out programming for the coming year.

All of these efforts continue to support and are built on our mission to promote understanding and acceptance for all faith communities. Our signature events like the triennial Jewish-Christian-Muslim Dialogue, Grand Dialogue in Science and Religion, our Interfaith Leadership Lectures and our Annual Thanksgiving Celebration will be moving online and addressing our theme of healing.

In addition, we have partnered with various community organizations to create wide ranging programming covering each of our four healing themes.

  • Healing our bodies
    • Conference on Health and Religion in cooperation with DeVos Medical Ethics Colloquy
    • Developing interfaith and health curriculum for health students
  • Healing our Earth
    • Our environmentally themed Grand Dialogue in Science and Religion was divided into two parts this year.
      • Part 1: Christian Imperatives for Environmental Care
      • Part 2: Interfaith Imperatives for Climate Action
  • Healing our political divisions
  • Healing our racial disparity
    • Healing racism initiative for interfaith leaders and participants with the Institute for Healing Racism
