Teaching and Learning with Technology Symposium
Each Spring, Grand Valley's Teaching & Learning with Technology Symposium provides an opportunity for faculty to showcase how they're putting technology to use in their teaching. Faculty and staff from across the university gather for this afternoon of fun, food, and presentations.
The IDeL team offers a variety of workshops on instructional technology and e-pedagogy. This year's lineup includes workshops on:
- Being present online: Good for you and your students
- What is social presence and why is it important
- Formative assessment techniques/tools to assess student learning
- Glue them to their Seats: Redeeming PowerPoint through neuroscience and good design
The Information Technology / eLearning and Emerging Technologies department offers a variety of workshops for those interested in learning to use GVSU's Blackboard learning management system, Collaborate web conferencing tools, Panopto video streaming, Ally accessibility features, and a number of other tools for enhancing your teaching.
