Olivia Rau is a Graduate Assistant for the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management. She is currently enrolled in GVSU’s School of Public, Nonprofit, and Health Administration, pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Administration. Prior to beginning her graduate studies, Olivia was employed as a Paralegal at a law firm in metro Detroit specializing in immigration law.
Olivia received her Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Michigan. During her undergraduate years she conducted fieldwork with University of Michigan faculty in London, England and in Java and Bali, Indonesia, focusing on immigration, globalization, community action, and the preservation of local cultures. She has experience working with local and national political campaigns as well as with internationally based community action organizations.
