Experience:
Dr. Jacobs is an adjunct instructor for the Department of Hospitality of Tourism and Management (HTM).  He was most recently an Associate Professor in the Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration Department at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, CA, where he taught for 10 years, from 2003 – 2012.  While at Cal Poly, Dr. Jacobs taught courses on Environmental and Wilderness Education, Adventure Travel & Tourism, Leadership, Recreation with Special Populations, and Research and Evaluation.

Dr. Jacobs currently serves as the Executive Director for Camp Henry.  He has served on National Boards and Committees for the Association for Experiential Education and the American Camp Association.  Dr. Jacobs has led Adventure Travel and Tourism trips to Alaska, Australia, Belize, Costa Rica, Fiji, Greece, Mexico, and Thailand.  In addition to his many years of experience in the camping industry, Dr. Jacobs also has extensive experience within the hospitality and tourism field, working for several ski resorts, Princess Cruises, Wilderness Inquiry, and Sunriver Resort.

As the father of three boys, Dr. Jacobs has coached over 45 youth sports teams and spends many nights and weekends watching, coaching, or cheering for one of his kiddos.  Dr. Jacobs and his wife, JJ, met working as ski instructors at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, OR.  JJ is by far the best skier in the family.  Dr. Jacobs (or Jake as he is known at Camp Henry) is often considered the biggest kid at camp and is an above average four-square player.
