Darwin Harris, History '19

I am Darwin Harris, a 2019 GVSU history department graduate. Currently, I am in my final year of law school at West Virginia University, and working at the Western Environmental Law Center (WELC), a non-profit public interest environmental law firm based in the Pacific Northwest. The history degree has a lot of transferable skills. While in law school, I have used my history degree to: do research on the law, consider the historical context of the law, and to engage in analytical dialogue. I have also been able to use my analytical skills from the history degree to analyze elements of the law, and to analyze potential bad law or public policy, especially if the law/policy has adverse impacts to underrepresented groups, or if the law/policy has impacted the public before in a negative manner (like voter restriction laws). Feel free to reach out if there is anything I could potentially help out with.
Best regards,
