Alec Palumbo
Alec Palumbo is a senior at Grand Valley State University, studying
Political Science and Psychology. He is from Sterling Heights,
Michigan, where he grew a passion for public service. Alec is an
active member of the GVSU Student Senate, where he currently serves as
the Chairman of the Policy Counsel. This has provided an ample
leadership opportunity that has encouraged him to develop his skills
with the Cook Leadership Academy. Previously, he has interned in the
District Office of Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, which has
reaffirmed his love for politics and public policy. In his free time,
Alec enjoys watching and playing a variety of sports, walking and
running, and reading up on current events. Alec is hopeful in
developing his leadership skills through building confidence, having a
diverse dialogue with others, and making new connections. After
graduation, he hopes to work in government or legislative analysis,
with consideration of pursuing a Master's in Public Policy.
