Albert Okwei
Albert Okwei is a dedicated graduate student pursuing a Master of
Public Administration at Grand Valley State University. Hailing from
Accra, Ghana, Albert has demonstrated strong leadership abilities,
having served as President of Dr. Hilla Limann Hall and Chief of Staff
for the Students Representative Council at the University of Ghana. He
currently holds key roles at GVSU, including Graduate Assistant at the
Seidman College of Business Deans Office and Finance Officer for the
Graduate Student Association. Over the summer, Albert interned at The
Urban League of West Michigan, further enhancing his experience in
public service.
He is an active member of the American Society of Public
Administration, Omicron Delta Kappa (OK), and the International
City/County Management Association. Albert is also a recipient of the
prestigious Lakers Without Borders award from the International
Student Services at GVSU.
Passionate about public policy, nonprofit management, and
international development, Albert is committed to making a positive
impact through his work. As a Cook Leadership Academy Fellow
Candidate, he is eager to enhance his understanding of ethical
leadership and community engagement. With a deep commitment to
academic excellence and service, Albert aspires to a career in public
service, where he aims to contribute meaningfully to the betterment of society.
