Lamar Scott Jr.
Lamar Jr. is a sophomore at Grand Valley State University majoring in
Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish. He is a proud Thompson
Working Family Scholar and a member of the Peter C. Cook Leadership
Academy. Deeply committed to public service, Lamar serves as a student
senator representing the College of Education and Community
Innovation. He also holds the position of Vice Polemarch for the Pi
Zeta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. In addition, Lamar is
the secretary for Collegiate Midnight Golf, a program he helped
establish on GVSU’s campus to support underrepresented students
through leadership and professional development. He brings a passion
for equity, justice, and youth empowerment to everything he does.
Lamar is driven by a desire to create meaningful change in his
community and beyond. Through his involvement, he strives to embody
servant leadership and inspire others to do the same.
